The Builders of The Silent Cities Lodge No. 4948

Junior Warden is the New Worshipful Master of Builders of the Silent Cities Lodge No.55 & Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Menin Gate on Rememberance Day

The Worshipful Master W.Bro Robbie McKinven and the Lodge Secretary W.Bro Bob Tuthill visited the Builders of the Silent Cities Lodge No.55 in Flanders Fields to see W.Bro Dominique Coopman installed into the chair of No.55. The Lodge performed the Ceremony in an exemplary fashion and afterwards at the festive board W.Bro McKinven sang the Masters Song to Dominique making it a very special day for Dominique who is the current Junior Warden of the Builders of the Silent Cities Lodge, No. 4948 in London and consequently when he will be installed as our Lodge Master in 2018 will be the first Worshipful Master to have held that office in all three of the Builders of the Silent Cities Lodges in Europe (France, UK and Belgium).

It is quite unique for a London Lodge to continue to have such strong connections with their sister lodges because of the ideals founded from the War Graves Commission and this link of Masonic Friendship within the Builders of the Silent Cities Lodges which has continued to grow since the original lodge consecration in 1922

After the Lodge meeting W.Bro Domonique Coopman, W.Bro Bob Tuthill and W.Bro Douglas Mayne were honoured to be selected to lay a wreath on behalf of the Builders of the Silent Cities Lodges at the Menin Gate on this Armistace Weekend in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice.
